I’m from a town called Dewittville in South West Quebec. Although there’s not much to do in Dewittville, the town motto is “Do it in Dewittville”. I guess you could say that this motto has stuck with me from the outset because I’m a do’er: When I say I’m going to do something, I make it happen.
I started skiing when I was 2 years old. It was my family’s weekend activity that I causally participated in, but I was certainly no child prodigy. When I was 10 I met Michael, who changed the world of skiing to me forever. “Hit that kicker and do a 360 Meredith!” he yelled to me from the bottom of the jump he’d just hit. I barely knew what a 360 was let alone how to do one, but given my nature, I tried all the same. Without knowing it, my life would be centered around skiing, pushing my limits and my comfort zones from that moment on.
